In more than 2 decades time, Speedwings Aviation Academy has advanced as a trade mark in the field of aviation training. The academy has evolved as a centre for learning and public service coupled with maintaining excellent international standards.

Established in 1995, the Speedwings Academy is the only professional airline training school in India where the airline commercial activities are being taught to the core, handled and managed by Airline professionals and UFTAA experts.

Since our inception in 1995
1996

Approved as an IATA Authorized Training Centre for IATA UFTAA/ FIATA and DGR courses by the International Air Transport Association.

1999

Nominated the Senior Faculty to the IATA/UFTAA Expert Committee for the formulation and testing of all the four levels of UFTAA Courses at Geneva.

2002

Received citation from IATA/ATDI for the First Position Question Bank preparation for UFTAA, FIATA and DGR courses.

2003

The SPEEDWINGS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION was formed to foster friendship and to offer guidance and assistance for better placements in India and abroad. - Galileo Online approval received.

2005

First Branch opened at Calicut, Kerala.

2006

In March, opened its second Branch at Mavelikara, Kerala.

Ms Peggy Esseldeurs - Assistant Director, Travel & Tourism ITDI, Montreal (Canada) visited Speedwings.

2007

In January, IATA Authorization was received to teach seven new IATA Aviation Courses.

In June signed an MOU with Amadeus to provide Amadeus GDS – Computerized Reservation Course.

In July, Briger Backman, CEO & advisor UFTAA had visited Speedwings

2008

In February, received authorization for the new IATA Course Shipping Perishable Cargo & Live Animals Regulations.

March, Authorization from IATA for IATA Station Management and IATA Airport Operations.

In September, received approval from Worldspan to provide it as a GDS Course.

2009

Selected by IATA as the World Top 10 Institute among the 440 training institutes & selected as the Premier Circle Member of IATA.

Started its Third Branch at Kollam.

2010

Selected as the Premier Circle Member of IATA

2011

Selected as the Premier Circle Member of IATA

In February, Albaidhani Ismail, Head of Distance Learning ITDI, visited Speedwings.

In July signed an MOU with University of Petroleum and Energy Studies to conduct 3 year degree programme.

2012

Selected as the Premier Circle Member of IATA

2013

Selected as the Premier Circle Member of IATA

2014

Started new branch at Pondicherry and Thrissur & Selected as the Premier Circle Member of IATA

2015

Received approval of Government of India and IATA to start 12 categories of DGR Courses.

Received approval for 3 new IATA courses Supply Chain and Transport Modes, Unit Load Device – Handling Awareness, Cargo Security Awareness.

21st February inauguration of the 12 DGR courses by Hon. Home Minister Sri. Ramesh Chennithala

Selected as the Premier Circle Member of IATA for the 7th consecutive year

Started new branch at Kothamanagalam

2016

Selected as the Premier Circle Member of IATA for the 8th consecutive year.

Received Consumer Protection Award- 2016

IATA recognized PGDASM as IATA Course and granted AvMP title for the PGDASM students who successfully completes the PGDASM program

Started Branches at Kottayam, Kannur & Wayanad.

2017

Received 2017 Recognition for contribution to the development of air transport industry professionals in 2016


Opened new branch at Vijayawada
