OBJECTIVES

The objective of this course is to help prepare you for a role in international freight forwarding by providing you with the knowledge required to manage freight forwarding activities within global supply chains. You will learn about the various methods of shipping different types of cargo, the documents related to foreign trade, procedures for exporting and importing goods, and the laws and regulations governing the international carriage of cargo.
Special attention will be given to the role of the freight forwarder in multimodal transport operations involving two or more transport modes, including the legal aspects and professional responsibilities of this evolving role. You will learn how various transport modes—road, rail, sea, inland waterway and/or air—are used in combination to efficiently and cost effectively transport goods and commodities overseas.
